Personally, I stick with ACT 100% in any game (where possible). Generally, I'm not after a "DPS meter", I'm after diagnostics and statistics - what hits for how much, damage types, crit %, timelines etc.
That being said, in the numerous MMO's I've played, most players I've known are wanting: 1. In game & simple 2. Their DPS or HPS (or both) 3. Their group/raid DPS/HPS (or both) 4. The ability to filter to self/group/raid only (ie: selectively parse) 5. Ability to export to chat channel (whether via clipboard or direct). For people who want a meter (as opposed to parser), they generally will want group/raid dps - your dps is nice, but they really want their dps/hps compared to other people around them. |
